A rapid increase in population leads to a significant pressure on housing demand. The Splendor Apartment was built in order to meet part of this pressing need.

It has 14 stories (included basement and roof floor), including 2 blocks. Block A has 9 2-bedroom flats aligned on 2 facades, separated by a central corridor, with a 3-bedroom flat at a curve end of the building. With smaller area, block B has 7 2-bedroom flats and 1 3-bedroom flat.

The structure of this building is reinforced concrete load-bearing frame. Reinforced concrete walls were also erected around a staircase to make the building more stable against wind load.

Position: Chief Designer

ADD: Thanh Xuan Ward, Dist.12, HCMC.
Site area: 5,013.7 square meters

After the success of The Splendor Apartment, its investor has planed to build The Splendor II Apartment.

In Asia in general and in HCMC in particular, most of people do not usually leave their parents home when they become adult. People prefer to live together as it is part of the culture. However, there has been a trend of living separately recently. The concept design for this project aims to satisfy these diversified needs.

An 8mx6m 1-bedroom flat is a core module. By adding half of this core module, a 1-bedroom flat becomes a 2-bedroom flat, and when double this core module, it becomes a 3-bedroom flat. In other words, this 1-bedroom flat can be extended to a 2-bedroom flat or a 3-bedroom flat only by adding partitions without affecting the main structure of the building. The whole structure of the building still stays in the same frame. In this way, it provides a flexible choice for customers and therefore, the investor can sell their properties effectively.

The shorter side of this site faces main road, which is a big disadvantage. The fire engines area is arranged with a 45 degree deviation as a solution to overcome this drawback.

2 Floors above the fire engine area are firefighters' accommodation.
